How WholeBody Cryotherapy Works?

Super-Cool

During wholebody cryotherapy the body is exposed to super cooled temperatures of around -120C for a period of 3 minutes. Unlike conventional ice baths the treatment we offer is a skin level treatment so core body temperature is only marginally affected and actual skin surface temperature falls to around 5C.

‘Skin-Deep’

The extremely low temperature effects receptors under the skin surface. These receptors send signals to the brain to reduce blood circulation to extremities of the body and as such protect the body’s core temperature. The effect of this is to prevent further swelling and bruising around damaged areas.

Quick-Recovery

The process also triggers the body to produce increased levels of endorphins, ant-inflammatory substances, nutrients, enzymes, hormones and oxygen in the blood.

On warming, the enriched blood supply flows back to the outer body and flushes away toxins. This process enables the body to repair and recover much quicker than other methods. Pain relief is more immediate and the body feels energised.

“Truly WholeBody”

Unlike other devices our chamber is truly wholebody. The chamber is completely safe as the individual is surrounded by super cooled air and not liquid nitrogen vapour.

Despite the extremely low temperatures, as we use cooled air, the environment is not unpleasant. Of those that have experienced immersion in an ice bath at temperatures of 2-8C and the ensuing freezing of muscle and tissue followed by the stiffness, almost all prefer the comfort of a WholeBody Cryochamber.
